Thistleberry= Field Trip

Today we went on a field trip with Addison's school to Thistleberry farms.  They have so many activities for the kids that they split us up into 3 groups.  Her group is the tadpoles (3 year olds).  We first started off on the corn maze.  In the corn maze were mailboxes with stories that were on them.  We had to match the clue with the story.  For example, who wore a glass slipper and had an evil step mom and sisters.  Answer:  Cinderella.

Next up was the cow train.  This was a hit with all the kids!  They sat next to one of their classmates and enjoyed the ride.  As we were waiting on the train ride, there were activities for the kids to do which included pedal cars, duck races, horse jumping things, hay maze, spider web thing, and looking at the animals.

Once we were down with those acitivies, we then went to the huge jumping pillow.  Addison enjoyed this at first and then she lost her balance and fell and ended up getting stepped on, accidentally.  This was easily recovered by a cat that loved attention and she was then content petting the cat while her friends jumped on the pillow.

After the jumping pillow, it was get a drink of water break and then headed on the hay ride to pick out a pumpkin!

Pumpkin Patch

Today we went to the Pumpkin Patch with Grammie, Grandma, Harrison, Lucy, Auntie Elizabeth and Uncle Adam.  Addie enjoyed seeing all the animals as I swear her calling is going to be a veterinarian.  She begged and begged to see the bunny rabbits.  She really wants one as a pet but I know nothing about taking care of a rabbit and where would we put it with three dogs?! After the petting zoo, we took a hay ride to the corn maze and pumpkin patch.  At the end, Addie picked out 4 pumpkins that she wanted!

Fall Colors brings photo shoot time

Jeremy came home with a cold so since the house has been fighting a sickness for a month now, I was taking any chances and took Addie up to my parents house for the night.  We again watched the Notre Dame vs BYU game.  Thank goodness the Irish are 7-0!!!  While at my parents house, I had my camera in the car and since it was a beautiful fall day, I decided to snap away with the camera.  All in total 435 pictures were taken and here are a few! I just love the background that my parents property offers for the photos!

As the ND game was coming to an end, Addie and my mom were up her bed and low and behold, Addison fell asleep at 7:00.  She never falls asleep that early, ever!  I went to bed at 10 but probably didn't fall asleep until 11.  Guess what happened at 4:00 in the morning... yep. Addison potty time .. I convinced her to lay back down in bed for an hour but she kept asking me "mommy are you up?".  So up we got and headed downstairs for breakfast.   I turned on the TV and tried to catch a few more "z's" but it wasn't happening.  oh well, I wouldn't change it for the world.

Notre Dame Vs Stanford

Addie and I headed up to my parents house to watch the game since we are both sill fending off our coughs and didn't want to get worse by going to the game.  We arrived at my parents at 1:00 and just in time for Addie to curl up in Gramp's lap to watch a movie.  He of course hooked her up with a movie on demand, per her request!  after watching for a little, it was time to build with her marbles and blocks.  This is her new thing that we have to do every night.  it's a 100 piece set that she got for her 2nd birthday and she just really is now getting into it and loves it.

So as the game is going on, she decided that she was going to take a nap in Grammie's bed and Grammie is "sleeping" in bed with her.  Currently the game is in OT... dad and I are watching downstairs as mom and Addie are camped out upstairs.

The coin toss just happened.... oh lordy biting my nails!

Whoo-hoo Irish win!!!

While daddy is away... Addie and mommy will play

Daddy is out of town for a work conference so it's Addie and mommy for 4 nights on our own!  What shall we do.

Monday October 15th- since this was a tax deadline day, I ended up having to go into the office on my flexible day (usually I do not work Monday's).  Addie went into the office with me since I didn't know how long things were going to take.  I just love my work department as my co-workers just love Addison. So many compliments on how she should model and that she needs a brother or sister!  After being at work for 2 hours, Addie managed to color, help with copying, count my pennies in my desk drawer and just occupy herself in my work area.    After that we left and went to the grocery store and then headed home only for me to be on a few conference calls!  Have to share a funny story.  As I am on the phone with a partner no less, Addie had to use the bathroom and she attempts to wipe for #2, but of course, she had to have me wipe.  Lovely as it was announced for all to hear in the background!

In the afternoon we had a school project for her to do that we had been delaying.  We had to fill out a poster board anyway we wanted that highlighted Addison.  Since I am such a picture fanatic, I printed out a few pics of family and of her doing things, for example her at swimming lessons, gymnastics, her first roller coaster ride.  This will be hung up in her classroom at school all year long so she will have the comfort of seeing her family.  However, I realized I forgot to put a picture of her and the dogs so I need to snap a few of those because they just love her so much.  Anyway, back to the project.  We had 1/2 piece of poster board to work with.  I had Addison write her name on it and then we would do a little scrap booking with having her cut a colored piece of paper and then place the picture on the piece of paper that she just cut and then place that on the poster board.  Of course, I forgot to capture pictures of all this, but just wanted to document a mommy and me moment!

So after all the work was done for the day, Addie and I ended up playing with her building blocks and marbles.  She is obsessed lately.  We have to do it every night and sometimes not all 100 pieces get picked up and just remain in the living room.. oh well, I learn to pick my battles!

Monday night ended up her and I going up to my bedroom at 8:00 as I hate being downstairs when it's dark outside.  I admit, I do have a fear of the dark.  So I set the alarm, made sure the dogs were with us and then locked the bedroom door, snuggled with her and off to bed we went.

Tuesday-  Since she went to bed earlier than normal, she was up at 5:00 in the morning.  (ouch).   I wanted to sleep some more because I didn't fall asleep until after 11.  She also got up at midnight with her cough and then her cough got her up at 5:00.   So I managed to just turn on the TV and got her breakfast around 6:00 and then I managed to start getting ready at 6:15.  It was bath morning for her and we had to do her nebulizer (spelling) so that takes about 10 minutes to do in the morning.  Amazingly, we were out the door, lunch packed, bed sheets for school, poster board, my computer bag by 7:45 in the morning!

So after I got her to school, it was off to work I go.  Of course when daddy is away is when house appointments are being made.  We had the sprinklers guys coming over so I had to be home by 3:30 in order for them to be blown out.  Addison was curious and wanted to see what this was all about and learn about it too.  I did my best in order to explain, but probably more appropriate for daddy to do that one!   I did the simple version of there are pipes in the ground that water our grass and since snow is coming, we need to get the water out of the line so the pipes do not break.   Addison played for a little bit outside once she was bored with the sprinkler at that point.  She decided to play hopscotch in the garage with her own chalk outline!

Now after dinner, we watched Madagascar 3  (rented on the direct tv).  She calls it Move it Move it since the song is in the movie.  Then it was time for a nightly building and then off to bed.

Bike-a-thon

At Addison's school, they had a bike-a-thon to raise money for Ronald McDonald House.  All the kids were able to bring their bikes to school and ride for 20 minutes.  the rules were no running into each other and stay outside of the chairs (to make it a circle around).   All the kids had a blast and I was able to capture a  few photos.
